ABS has poor weather resistance and is easy to degrade under the effect of ultraviolet light

ABS appearance is opaque ivory color or black, its products can be colorful, and has a high gloss. The relative density of ABS is about 1.35, and its water absorption is low. ABS has good connection with other materials and is easy to print, coat and dispose of coating. The oxygen index of ABS is 18 ~ 20, which is a flammable polymer. The flame is yellow, there is black smoke, and it announces a special smell.

Mechanical function: ABS has excellent mechanical function, its impact strength is very good, can be used at very low temperature; ABS plate has excellent wear resistance, good scale stability, and oil resistance. It can be used for bearings under medium load and speed. The creep resistance of ABS board is larger than that of PSF and PC, but smaller than that of PA and POM. The tortuous strength and contraction strength of ABS are relatively poor. The mechanical function of ABS is greatly affected by temperature.

Thermal function: the thermal deformation temperature of ABS is 93~118℃, and the product can be improved by about 10℃ after annealing treatment. ABS can still show certain tolerance at -40℃, and can be used in the temperature range of -40~100℃.

Electrical function: ABS has good electrical insulation, and is simply not affected by temperature, humidity and frequency. It can be used in most environments.

Environmental function: ABS is not affected by water, inorganic salts, alkali and a variety of acids, but soluble in ketones, aldehydes and chlorinated hydrocarbons. Stress cracking will occur when it is corroded by acetic acid and vegetable oil. ABS has poor weather resistance and is easy to degrade under the effect of ultraviolet light. After half a year in the field, the impact strength was reduced by half.
